We are delighted to announce that Riverhead Theatre has recently gained assessor accreditation for Art Award Bronze and Silver from Trinity College London.

This means we are now an Arts Award Centre with three of our very own Arts Award Advisers:
Mrs. Kate Atterby (Principal of Youth Theatre)
Mrs. Nicola Maplethorpe (Assistant Youth Theatre)
Mr. Neil Warne (Assistant Youth Theatre

Arts Award centres assist young people in achieving their Arts Award by offering art based activities and events which promote active participation in the arts.

From April 2017, the Riverhead Youth Theatre is able to offer all of our students the opportunity to undertake their Arts Award Bronze qualification. Bronze Arts Award is a nationally recognised Level 1 qualification (on the Qualifications and Credit Framework [QCF] and is awarded to students who can demonstrate participation in the arts as both a participant and an audience member.

We offer year round opportunities for young people to take part in all aspects of theatre, including school holidays and summer-workshops. Riverhead Youth Theatre and the Riverhead Producers provide these opportunities on a weekly basis in school term time.

As an Arts Award Centre we offer our facilities and support to any young person working towards an Arts Award (subject to availability) and this includes access to visiting artists and companies.

We also support Theatre in Local Education, as a performance base for local schools and dance studios.
